Tariff layers change faster than anyone can track by hand

CBP publishes constantly

New CSMS bulletins revise headings, add exemptions and carve out countries. A list you exported last month is already behind.

One line can hit five programmes

A single HTS number can carry Section 301, a Section 232 metals heading, a forced-labour provision and an exemption at the same time.

A missed code is a correction

Filing without the right Chapter 99 heading means post-summary corrections, penalties and delays that land on you.

How it works

Paste your codes

Up to ten at a time, in any format. Dots optional, and a leading zero dropped by a spreadsheet is restored automatically.

Choose the origin

Country of origin decides which headings actually apply, including the note 52 blanket headings and per-country carve-outs.

Read the table

One row per code, one column per programme, every Chapter 99 heading listed with its rate and the total additional duty.

Questions

How current is the data?
The dataset tracks CBP's CSMS bulletins and Federal Register notices and is updated as they are published. Every heading records the source it came from.
What happens when I cancel?
Automatic billing stops immediately and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. There are no partial refunds.
Can I look up as much as I like?
The service is built for verifying and filing entries, not for bulk export, so fair-use limits apply — see the Terms of Service. Normal broker workloads sit comfortably inside them.
Is this a substitute for the HTSUS?
No. It is a research tool that gets you to the right headings quickly. Always verify against the official HTSUS and CBP guidance before you file.
CHB Mate is an informational research tool. It is not legal advice, not customs advice, and does not create a broker–client relationship. Tariff data is compiled from public sources and provided as is; you remain responsible for verifying every classification against the official HTSUS and current CBP guidance before filing.
